Robert E. Jones Jr.

April 20, 1946 – October 7, 2019

Robert (Bob) was born to Edna and Robert Jones of Mound City, MO. When Bob was a young child the Jones family relocated to California when his father accepted a job from an employer in South Gate.

Following graduation from South Gate High School in 1964, Bob attended UCLA where he earned a Bachelor’s in physics. Following his graduation from UCLA, Bob worked for Hughes Aircraft in Torrance. While working at Hughes, Bob met Elizabeth Compton. Bob and Elizabeth were married in 1969. Bob and Elizabeth had a son and daughter. In 1972 Bob and family relocated to Mountain View, California. After moving to Mountain View, Bob and Elizabeth’s second daughter was born. In 1977 Bob and family moved to Lexington, MO. In 1986, Bob and family returned to California, settling in the town of Volcano.

In 2001, Bob purchased the Pine Grove Nursery and renamed it the Ridge Road Garden Center. The Ridge Road Garden Center remains in the family and is being managed by Bob’s daughter Sayle.

Bob is survived by his wife Libby, daughters Sayle and Karyn, and Greg.
