In Memory

John Stafford

John Stafford

Last summer, John and Patee’ “Jones” (SGHS ’64) Stafford had planned to attend our reunion. In late October Patee’ informed us that they would not be able to travel to California because John had become ill and required surgery.

It is with sadness we report that on Saturday, January 17, 2015, John passed away as the result of cancer. John is survived by his wife Pat “Jones” Stafford, their two daughters and grandchildren.  Services will be Alabama.

Pat can be contacted through this website.

It is with great sadness to learn of the passing of John.  Pat and John were planning on attending the reunion.  Early fall Pat sent a message that John was ill and would be having surgery therefore they would not be coming to California.  Our deepest sympathy to Patee their children and grandchildren.  John and Pat Jones'64 were together as a couple for well over 50 years.  John was a good guy - rest in peace John.  Martha and Frank Pegueros

So so sorry to hear about John.  He was such a wonderful person.  I remember he and Vic DeBrouwer would walk me home from school everyday.  Patee, I know he made you a very good husband because he was sincere and kind.  I'm sad for your loss.

It has been almost a year now and it is still hard for me to think of John being gone. I miss him every day. We were truely soulmates. John requested just before he passed to be cremated much to my surprise. I asked him what made him decide to be cremated and he said to me "I thought that you would have me with you always."  John's remains sit in a clock where I can see him everyday. Our daughters and I wear a necklace with some of his ashes and we feel his presents always. Thank you all for your kind words and prayers for our family.

DEAREST PATEE - WHAT A BEAUTIFUL STORY - ALTHOUGH IT IS NOT REALLY SURPRSING AS YOU SAY YOU AND JOHN WERE TRULY SOULMATES.  WE - YOUR CLASSMATES - ALL NEW THAT AND NEW WHAT A GENTLE, KIND AND LOVING PERSON JOHN WAS.  I KNOW HIS REQUEST MUST NOW BRING YOU MUCH COMFORT TO STILL BE WITH HIM EVERYDAY IN A SYMBOLIC WAY.  WE WISH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR.  TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOURSELF AND WE HOPE WE WILL SEE YOU AT OUR NEXT GATHERING.
