Eddie was one of my very best friends. He, lived with his dad on Iowa Avenue, a few houses west of Standford Elemetry. I could stop by after school and we'd play with his collection of gas powered model airplanes. I met his dad a few times, and the close lovely relationship they had was wonderful to see. The hobby shop his dad opened on Tweedy, years later must have hepled to ease the terrible loss of his son.
I, too, remember Eddie. I mostly remember him from Stanford where we all used to play together in the schoolyard. I didn't see him as much in later school years but still remember him laughing and smiling with all of the other kids as we played. He always seemed very happy. I remember hearing about his passing but somehow must have blocked out the circumstances. Probably because I was always so afraid of the water. It's funny but whenever I've thought of Eddie over the years, it's always his laugh that I hear. Arne, I'm glad to know that you had the extra time and fun with him. Rather like the brother he never had.
