Don Garcia

Don Garcia

Susan Garcia, the wife of our classmate Don Garcia, has informed us that Don passed away on January 26, 2021.

I am saddened to announce the passing of my beloved husband of 23 years, Donald Garcia.

Don died from complications of COVID.

Don spent 36 years on the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Dept., he worked various assignments, such as guarding Sirhan Sirhan, working Vice Bureau, Firestone Station and his favorite assignment Homicide Bureau, where he spent 26 years.

Don’s loves were fishing, traveling and his friends and family. In 2011, Don lost most of his sight in an accident, and with only 5 percent vision in one eye - he never slowed down and didn’t dwell on it. We continued to travel the world and fish.  Don truly loved life and didn’t want to miss a minute of it.

Condolences may be sent to Susan Garcia, 209 Roycroft Ave. Long Beach, CA 90803

I'm so sorry to hear of Don's passing.  He was one of the nicest guys.  I know that he was a great athelete in high school.  I enjoyed talking with him,  he had a wonderful sense of humor.  My condolences to his family.

Don was a great friend and all round good guy.  The group of Tony, Tom Steve, Don, Richard, Jim, Ron, Mike and myself had great advantges together.  I had talked to Don just a couple of months ago and all seemed fine. Very positive and was enjoying living in Long Beach and Traveling before this pandemic came along.  Don was the principle person keeping by wife Bonnie and I together our early dating time and Don has remained a special friend to both Bonnie and I.
