With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Nadene Gail Trofholz, a woman of boundless compassion and love, who departed this life on November 15, 2025. Born on December 12, 1946, in Canada, Nadene’s life was an embodiment of empathy and kindness. Her thoughtful actions touched the lives of many, creating a legacy of love that will continue to inspire and comfort those who knew her. Nadene chose to spend her life in service of others. She found purpose in her clerical role within the consulting industry, but her true vocation was the love and care she showed towards people and animals alike. Nadene’s home in the River Bend community just outside of New Bern, North Carolina was a haven for foster dogs, each of them welcomed into her home and heart. Her love for travel took her to many places, yet it was always the comforts of home and the joy of helping others that mattered the most to her. As the American writer, Mark Twain once said, "The more I learn about people, the more I like my dog." This quote was something Nadene lived by, dedicating herself to both human and animal causes, often supporting organizations like the humane society. Always thoughtful, Nadene had a knack for making people feel special and loved. Her custom of sending cards to friends and family was a testament to her loving nature, a small gesture that left a large impact. She often said that kindness knows no boundaries, and she lived by this, extending her compassion to all she met. Preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Vera Organ, as well as her brother, Bill Organ. Nadene leaves behind a world that was made better by her presence. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nadene's name to 2 Traveling Dogs (2travelingdogs.com) or to the Colonial Capital Humane Society (colonialcapital.wixsite.com/cchs). Nadene’s life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of the human spirit. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the life of a woman who taught us the true meaning of compassion. To honor Nadene’s memory, we encourage friends and family to share their memories and upload photos to her memorial page. In this way, we can all help to keep her spirit alive, and remember a woman who lived her life with an open heart and a gentle soul.

Beautiful eulogy for Nadine. Wonderful life lived including her time spent with dogs in need. Even though so many years have passed since most of us had contact with her, this eulogy tells you this is a sweet, generous and kind person who will undoubtedly be missed.
